getting ready for Santa! Six weeks old.

It is hard to believe little guy is 6 weeks old. Well, he isn't so little anymore. He is still doing great and is one easy going, happy guy. We are getting ready for Uncle Evan and Aunt Lyndi to visit us this weekend and then will be heading to St Louis to celebrate Christmas with Great-Grandma, Nana, Pa, Aunt Dana and Uncle John, Uncle Evan and Aunt Lyndi and Aunt Samantha. We can't wait!

Week five and lots of smiles!

No, this isn't Jack but rather Hudson at Jack's age. Many people have been asking if they look alike so I thought you could compare! I think they do look very different but have some of the same expressions. Hudson had pretty dark hair, long eyelashes and eyebrows and Jack's are all much lighter. They both have the same shaped large heads though!

Jack's head is growing so fast that his new hair hasn't quite caught up with him and he looks a bit bald on the sides :)

So, I came into the family room after I heard the sound of a machine on and this is what I found. I asked him what he was doing and he told me that he was "making milk for baby Jack". He looked down at the bottle though and after realizing it was empty he became very concerned that the pump was broken. He will love this picture when he is a teenager I am just sure! I am also surprised he has not tried to nurse Woody or Buzz yet....maybe next week.

Jack is turning into one smiley boy this week. He grins so big his nose wrinkles up when you talk to him. He is a very easy going, happy little guy as long as he is fed! He is sleeping great and putting up with many not so gentle hugs and kisses from his brother. Hudson did try to carry baby Jack to me across the room and somehow made it a good ten feet before I could meet him. Maybe this is why God gave baby Jack so much extra fluff....

Four weeks old and first Thanksgiving

We had a house full of visitors for Jack's first Thanksgiving! Aunt Sam came up from Mizzou and Uncle Nick, Aunt Liz and cousins Annika and Brandon came from Colorado to meet Jack. Hudson had a blast playing with his big cousins and we can't wait for Sam to move to KC hopefully to do her internship someday:).
Hudson loves to imitate baby Jack's noises which Jack thinks is so funny. He grins when we look at him now and has even cracked a few giggles.

I walked in the family room the other day where I had left Jack sleeping but Hudson told me he was changing his diaper and had nearly stripped him down. Hudson is mostly interested in picking out what Sesame Street character he will wear next on his Pampers diaper.

Look at these rolls appearing:). He is obviously eating great and is sleeping pretty well too. He is so cuddly and will sleep great long stretches if he is swaddled or if I wear him in a sling. We hope he won't stay rolled up in a ball forever.

With cousins Brandon and Annika (and new Buzz pj's thanks to Aunt Liz)

The "kids" table. Hudson apparently needed yet another shirt change after getting a speck of something from dinner on it. Thank goodness Aunt Sam puts up with it:)

attempts at a family picture

I just picked up the proofs today from our attempt a few weeks ago at a family Christmas picture and had to post the ones that display Hudson at 2 1/2 at his best:). I used to think it was hard to get good shots of a baby but have since decided that was a piece of cake!
This is Hudson's favorite new face to make:)

Let me start with a story about our attire. Nana knit Hudson the most adorable cowboy sweater complete with a W on front (she knows Hudson is picky about his attire so was smart to use the last inital so maybe his little brother will be more cooperative). Well I planned our outfits to coordinate with Hudson's sweater. Despite numerous attempts to get him to wear the sweater, it was a no go. So here he is with his favorite "Woody" from Toy Story boots and a brown t-shirt. At least he wasn't wearing his Toy Story shirt I suppose.

Trouble!!!!!

Luckily our photographer has four children as was very patient with us. After many photos we did get a few better pictures and you will see them when you get our Xmas card!

Happy Thanksgiving! Jack is three weeks old today!

This is the first time Jack has been in his crib - for a picture! He is laying on a pillow embroided by Nana.

Hudson loves to hold baby Jack and gets a pillow and blanket ready and puts two hands up in the air ready for him. Sometimes he asks in a nice voice "Hudson hold baby Jack PLLEAAAASSEE" and other times in a not so nice voice "Hudson hold baby Jack NNNOOOWWWW"

Jack appears to be continuing to gain weight. He is getting pretty chubby in the cheeks and thighs.

Baby Jack's first bottle....he took it like a champ (seems to run in the family)

First bath

Baby Jack finally lost his cord this week at almost three week old. It actually happened at church. I went to change him and noticed it was gone and couldn't find it anywhere! I looked in his sleeper, in his carseat and finally found it on the floor....gross! We were excited that he could finally have his first real bath and Hudson was especially excited to help. Here are a few pics.

second week with the boys

Jack had his two week check up today and all went well. The chunky monkey gained over 1 pound over his birth weight and grew an inch weighing in at 9 lbs 12 oz (he was 8lb 11 oz when he was born and 8 lb 6 oz when we left the hospital). Dr Waters said that he likes most kids to be back at their birth weight but this kiddo has decided to take that a bit further and you will see the some chubby parts in the pictures below! First visit to the doctor and wide awake! He was holding his head up off the table when the doctor had him on his belly and the dr mentioned he will most likely be a quick mover like his brother.....I just want him to stay in the meatloaf stage longer!

Look at that belly!
Kissing big brother

Getting some cheeks!

Unlike his brother, Jack loves to be swaddled so he often looks like a burrito

Hudson has been doing lots of finger painting these days as we have had some cold and rainy weather. I thought he was messy here......

till I came home after taking Jack to the doctor and Aunt Dana let him fingerpaint. I am pretty sure he had way more fun with Aunt Dana then he did with mom! Now if anyone has any tips on getting it out of nose nostrils:)

Dana took Hudson swimming and he had a blast and hoarded some orange noodles...shocking I know.

Snuggling with Aunt Dana

We also got to see "Pa" last weekend when he came up to meet baby Jack. It was fun to see him and hope he can stay longer next time!
